About Us
Celebrate Life started in the kind heart of one woman, Doris Kaifa, and has grown into a community-wide event in March 2016, Doris held the first Celebration of Life for those who were homeless, disadvantaged, and/or lonely. These celebrations, held quarterly, have grown to celebrate any life event: birthday, anniversary, employment, birth, graduations, any significant or meaningful event.
Everyone is encouraged to come and be part of this community of God.
Sharing meaningful events, life lessons, laughing with others is integral in the process of community building. Individuals come to realize they are loved and valued by God and all the community members. What a powerful gift!
God has smiled at Doris's dream-- Celebrate Life Ya un' Mission. The celebrations have grown from 48 guests to 100 guests. this does not reflect the many volunteers who help us with the celebration.

Meet our Director
Doris Kaifa was born in Monrovia, Liberia. She moved to the USA in 1999 and begin her career with the Social Work Department of the Good Samaritan Ministries, Inc. She has worked for the Good Samaritan Ministries for 11 years to present. Doris is the manager/supervisor of Good Samaritan Ministries branch in Piney Flat, TN.
Celebrate Life Ya Un’ Mission, Inc. which has been operating for the past six years serving the underprivilege in our community. Celebrate Life Ya Un’ Mission promotes inclusion, give hope to the hopeless, lift up the lonely and share Christ Love (John 15:12). Celebrate Life Ya Un’ Mission celebrates birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and any event one will like to celebrate. It also celebrates the different cultures in the Tri-Cities at the Langston Centre in Johnson City. Over 20, 000 community members have been served through the Celebrate Life Ya Un’ Mission.
Doris serves in other philanthropic organization in the community of Johnson City. She is a member of the Johnson City Lions Club where she served as secretary for two years and currently as President.
She has 4 beautiful daughters. Besiah, Zinnah, Joy and Precious.
Educationally, Doris has an earned, Associate degree from North East Community College, BSW and Master Degree in Social Work from East Tennessee State University (ETSU). She also has a real estate license and currently work at Keller Williams Realty.
Doris lives a simple life. She loves to read and make new connections.
